Silverton Casino Aquarium
You can visit the Silverton Casino Aquarium for absolutely free any day or time because it's located on the casino floor. At certain times of day they have a mermaid show as well as scheduled feeding times for the rays. Don't miss the jelly fish tanks above the Mermaid Lounge!
Bass Pro Shops
While you're at the Silverton Casino, stop by the Bass Pro Shop directly adjacent to the free aquarium tank. The Bass Pro Shop has a huge collection of taxidermy, beautiful outdoor landscapes created inside and aquarium tanks that house some of the largest game fish you've ever seen. Entry is free and you'll spend at least an hour gazing at the museum size collection of Taxidermy and wild life.
Fountains of Bellagio
This man made 8 acre pond situated between the Bellagio and the Las Vegas Strip is probably one of the most well known free attractions in Las Vegas. The choreographed music and water show is quite spectacular and happens every half hour during the day and every 15 minutes in the evenings. It's an amazing combination of technology and beauty creating a romantic atmosphere among the busy strip.
The botanical gardens at Bellagio are also worth a visit if you're looking for free things to do in Las Vegas. The scenery changes at the gardens with the seasons. Each new season and holiday is carefully portrayed in floral arrangements crafted by artists and florists that collaborate with each change.
Fall of Atlantis
At Caesar's Palace you can enjoy a free show in the Forum Shops. The Fall of Atlantis show consists of animated figures, flames, fountains and really is captivating. Aside from the show which takes place every hour starting at 10am, visitors can also take a free behind the scenes tour every Monday through Friday at 3:15 pm. You can also spend some time at their 50,000 gallon aquarium that houses over 300 fish and is located behind the Atlantis fountain.
Las Vegas Sign
"Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada". Don't miss your opportunity to take a selfie in front of what is arguably the most famous sign in the world. Depending on the time of year this free Las Vegas attraction usually has a line so expect to spend more than a few minutes there. Located just south of Mandalay Bay on the strip this attraction does have limited parking available.
Red Rock Canyon
Take an afternoon to visit this astonishingly beautiful natural wonder. Enjoy a hike or just park the car and take in the surroundings. Please don't venture out to Red Rock without an adequate supply of water, especially during summer months.
Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas has a lot of rock memorabilia on display throughout the building. Some of the more notable pieces in the collection are a Les Paul guitar played by The Who's Pete Townsend and of course Las Vegas legend Elvis' famous jump suits.
The Clark County Wetlands Park is the largest park in Clark County. While the wetlands were constructed to direct water run off, it is constructed using mostly natural features. It's the perfect place to go bird watching or take a walk and observe wildlife.
If you're looking for a more historic stroll stop by Downtown Las Vegas. Night time is the best time of day to get the total experience. It's full of older hotels and casinos giving it that old Las Vegas vibe. Outside of Container Park, a Downtown shopping area, you'll see a huge fire breathing praying mantis at the entrance that provides a free animatronic show complete with music and light show.
While you are in Downtown Las Vegas be sure to stop by the Fremont Street Experience. People watching is the best free thing to do in Las Vegas and Fremont Street is certainly the best place to do it. Street performers and unusual people from Las Vegas flock to this neon bathed area of the city.
If you're Downtown on the First Friday of any given month you can visit the art festival that takes place. It's a culmination of free entertainment and local artists located on Casino Center Drive by the Art Factory building.
Visit the Flamingo Hotel and Casino and you'll have a chance to visit the Flamingo Habitat free of charge. The enclosure has live Flamingo parading around stunning waterfalls and tropical foliage. This is a great family activity that you can do for free in Las Vegas.
One of the best parks to visit in Las Vegas is Sunset Park. This gigantic recreation area is located on Sunset and Eastern near McCarran International Airport providing a unique surrounding. Relax by the 14 acre lake, enjoy fishing, have a BBQ or take advantage of one of the many basketball courts or other sporting areas.
The Mirage Hotel and Casino located on the Las Vegas Strip provides an amazing free show to passers by. Every evening at 7pm and 8pm the Volcano show will erupt with live music and lava. The show also runs at 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights. While you're at the Mirage, take a walk through their atrium at the front entrance for spectacular water features and make you're way to the front desk. You'll find a 53 foot long aquarium with over 1000 specimens built into the reception area wall. One of the coolest architectural adornments on the strip!
Golden Nugget Shark Tank
The centerpiece of the pool at the Golden Nugget, located in Downtown Las Vegas, is an amazing shark aquarium. The pool is only free to hotel guests but you can still see the aquarium while walking around on the casino floor as a visitor. Another free attraction at the Golden Nugget is The Hand of Faith. It's the largest gold nugget in existence and the second largest ever found weighing in at 61 pounds.
